WHEN F1 RACED INDYCAR AT MONZA! The Story of the Race of Two Worlds (1957-1958)

The Indy 500 was part of the F1 Calendar, once upon a time. But never had the American open wheel racers come to Europe to race on an oval here. That is until the head of the Automobile Club of Italy proposed a race involving the best of F1 and the best of Indy to the head of the United States Auto Club.

Now, predictably, the Americans won with their superior oval knowledge, but at the time it was the fastest racing ever held, and one of the more forgotten races on that famous Monza oval.
