How John Delaney Ruined Irish Football

John Delaney rose to prominence in Ireland during the Saipan Incident, when Roy Keane was sent home from the Republic of Ireland’s 2002 FIFA World Cup squad following a bust-up with manager Mick McCarthy.

Over the next 20 years, Delaney went on a journey of being heralded as the great moderniser and saviour of Irish football, to being perceived as the architect of its demise.
