Number #1: His favorite Player is not LeBron James
Although LeBron James has taught his kids most of what they know about playing basketball, he’s still not their favorite player. The older son’s favorite basketball player is Russell Westbrook while Bryce’s favorite Basketball player is Stephen Curry. Bronny has played games wearing the number 0 jersey as inspiration from Russell Westbrook while Bryce has played with the number 30 jersey in honor of Stephen Curry. From the way Bryce plays, it is obvious that he draws a lot of inspiration from Stephen Curry who is one of the greatest shooters in the history of the NBA. At age 13, Bryce’s precision in shooting the ball especially outside the three-point arc is amazing!
Number #2: No To Instagram until he’s 14
If you are an active Instagram user, then you probably know that LeBron James is the most followed basketball player with almost 90 million followers. However, James does have some restrictions for his teenagers when it comes to social media. Bryce can only join Instagram when he’s 14. In 2019, James posted the picture of his first son Bronny on Instagram with the caption, “Told him 3 years ago the summer of 2019 I’d let him get one. Damn time flies! Hahaha! Anyways let’s get Bronny! P.S. Keep y’all hating asses off his comments or we pulling up.”
Following James’ announcement of the arrival of his kid on Instagram, Bronny gained 1 million followers in less than 24 hours. Unfortunately, Bronny’s account hasn’t been without many controversies. For instance, he once uploaded a video of himself smoking and the reactions were not pleasant. Again, there were rumors that Bronny was flirting with Larsa Pippen because he liked one of her pictures. Even though this allegation was not true, it explains more why James wants his kids off social media until they are of age.
Bryce is Turned 14 this June so he can officialy use insta. After Bryce Birthday LeBron Posted a Post with this caption “Yessir! Looks who’s here now too! IG world welcome my Young with love! Follow Bryce Maximus on his journey @_justbryce #JamesGang”.Although James’s youngest kid Zhuri is just 6 years, she’s not restricted from having an Instagram account. However, she wrote on the account that “page managed by mom + dad.” Maybe that’s why she was permitted to have an account.
Number #3: Reason behind his Jersey Number
Being the son of one of the best basketball players ever, Bryce and his brother draw some inspiration from their father. One of the ways that Bryce honors his dad is by wearing the number 6 jersey. Although James has worn the number 23 jersey for most of his career, he switched to the number 6 jersey when he joined the Miami Heat and now Lebron announced that he going to wear no 6 jersey for upcoming season.James is a big fan of julius erving and that is the motivation behind the number 6.
Number #4: Best shooter in the family
Bryce attends Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, Los Angeles and he has taken the same steps as his father to become a basketball player. Presently, he plays at the AAU level for the North Coast Blue Chips and his incredible shooting skills have drawn the attention of many to him. At just 13, his shooting skills are unmatchable and his father confirmed this claim by responding to a tweet from SLAM Magazine with the caption “Facts The best shooter in this household for sure.”
Number #5: He is not allowed to play all sports
Coming from a sport-living family, one would expect to see Bryce James enjoying himself playing different types of sports. Although he has shown some exceptional abilities in different types of sports including basketball and soccer, he is not allowed to play football and hockey. During an interview, LeBron James cited safety concerns as the reason why he decided that his kids won’t play soccer.
While James was in high school, he played wide receiver for St. Vincent-St. Mary’s football team. He was so good at the game that some sports analysts speculated that he could have played in the National Football League. However, he dropped football in his junior year after breaking a wrist. We believe that this must have been the reason why he is keen on not allowing his kids to play football. Well, we can’t blame him. He’s only doing what every good parent will do.
